Our Remembrance Day

The whole school assembled in the hall for our Remembrance Service.  From Foundation to Year 6 the children sat beautifully and listened really well to the poems and prayers that were read.

Later Foundation and both Year One and Two took the poppies they had made in class to the front of the school. We looked at the stone poppy that had been made by our Key Stage 2 children. We thought about the brave people whose names were written on some of the stones and talked about people we knew who served in the forces.

Our poppies have now been displayed in the school entrance and are a beautiful reminder for us to mark 100 years since the Armistice was signed in November 1918, bringing an end to the First World War.
