Christmas Homework

There is no written homework set for Christmas but please keep up good reading habits. Your targets on Accelerated Reader have just been reset so it would be lovely if everyone came back after the holiday ready to quiz!

You could also make sure you are keeping your timetables going by spending some time practising them on TTRS.

Enjoy time as a family over Christmas - play a game, take a walk together, snuggle up in front of a Christmas movie - just be together!

Happy Christmas everyone!

12 December
Please continue to fill in the phases of the Moon diary. I have seen the moon every night since setting this homework, with two exceptions - the first Saturday (29 November) and then the second Sunday (8 December).

In addition, the children have a grammar sheet to complete in their homework books and should be continuing to practise their timetables on TTRS. I do regularly check to see who is playing on TTRS and can tell that a lot of the children have not been playing regularly. Learning their timetables (and continuing to practise them to improve instant recall) supports progress in maths and will continue to do so as they head into year 6 and beyond!

Reading
The children should now be reading for 20 minutes every night. We have spent this first term building up to that goal, but we should now be meeting that target regularly. I will be monitoring this through Accelerated Reader, so please make sure your child is regularly reading a book they can quiz on. We are aiming for 100% meeting their target by Easter.
