Science

Science for children means exploring, discovering, investigating and understanding the world around them. Science is largely a practical subject that involves children doing things for themselves. Our aim in setting practical tasks is to encourage children to ask questions and persevere with their work, to increase their knowledge and skills, and to enable them to work with each other co-operatively.

Science at Key Stage 1 is incorporated into a series of topics. At Key Stage 2 it is taught as a discrete subject.
