Go Reading!

Go Reading! is a promotional tool to enthuse, amuse and encourage pupils in Years 3 – 6 to explore a wide range of texts and genres. Eye-catching “trackers” challenge and inspire pupils to read more adventurously, and also act as a reminder that there is more out there to read than just the next Harry Potter or Jacqueline Wilson!

Go Reading! pupils build credits by reading a book in each of the categories displayed on the tracker and telling someone else about it (peer pairs, whole class, teacher, librarian, parent/carer), or writing a book review. Children love using the attractive and colourful trackers to record their progress. This is not a reading scheme and children can choose from the categories in any order.

Some teachers like to award stars/stickers for each completed category and a certificate of achievement when the Go Reading! tracker is full.

Go Reading! can be used with any wide-ranging collection of books but we have included appropriate authors on the genre bookmarks to guide children in choosing books within the categories, should they need help.
